ABOUT THE PINETOP PERKINS FOUNDATION
Pinetop Perkins was one of the last great Mississippi bluesmen. He began playing blues around 1927 and is widely regarded as one of the best blues pianists. He passed away on March 21, 2011 at the age of 97.

The primary mission of The Pinetop Perkins Foundation is to provide encouragement and support for youth and young people at the beginning of their musical career; and help provide care and safety for elderly musicians at the twilight of their career.
The Foundation is a tax exempt non-profit organization. Donations to the Foundation will go towards scholarships to enable youth to attend the MasterClass Workshops held annually in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
2015 MASTERCLASS WORKSHOP DATES ANNOUNCED
The Pinetop Perkins Foundation has set the date for the sixth Blues Masterclass workshops for young and young-at-heart adult musicians. The classes will be held at the Shack Up Inn and Hopson Commissary in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where the youthful spirit of Pinetop (1913-2011) smiles on us.
The event takes place from June 17-19, 2015 and offers piano, guitar and harmonica workshops as well as a meet and greet on June 16th. Be sure and visit our Workshop Page for the most up to date information.

DAYTON BLUES SOCIETY RAISES FUNDS FOR
The Pinetop Perkins Foundation would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to David Tellman, his team and the Dayton Blues Society for their efforts in raising funds at their Youth Showcase. The event was held February 21, 2015 at the Phone Booth Lounge in Dayton, Ohio and raised over $1000 for youth workshop scholarships for the Master Class workshops this year.
